Halloween Hacks: Three simple treats made from Chick-fil-A Catering

by Danny

Costumes are essential for any Halloween party, but not just for the people attending. The food can be dressed up for the occasion, too!

Halloween night can be one of the busiest for trick-or-treaters and parents alike, so leave the cooking to us! Here are three simple ways to transform Chick-fil-A™ Catering favorites into spooky-fun snacks!

Chick-n-Strip Mummy Strips

The key to any good Halloween gathering is to be creative — to think outside of the box or, in this case, a tray of Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips®!

With a little help from crescent dough, edible eyes and a dab of your favorite Chick-fil-A® sauce, chilled Chick-n-Strips™ can be transformed into a spooky grab-and-go snack. Party guests and trick-or-treaters of all ages are sure to have a ghoulish good time with this savory snack. Give Chick-n-Strips their own Halloween costume using pre-made dough and candy eyes.

Ingredients:

• Chilled Chick-N-Strips
• Three pre-made crescent roll dough packages
• Cooking Oil
• Edible candy eyes
• Your choice of Chick-fil-A Sauce

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Unroll pre-made dough, separate at perforations, creating four rectangles.
  3. Cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, and repeat with the second container of dough.
  4. Wrap four pieces of dough around each reheatable Chick-n-Strip to look like mummy “bandages,” stretching dough strips slightly to cover chicken. Leave an opening about a half inch from the end for edible eyes.
  5. Place wrapped Chick-n-Strips on a large ungreased cookie sheet and brush dough lightly with cooking oil.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and Chick-n-Strips are heated throughout.
  7. Remove Chick-n-Strips from the oven, then add edible eyes using a dab of sauce to make each stick.

  2. Draw a jack-o’-lantern face on each orange.
  3. Fill each orange with fruit and serve.

Frankenstein Brownie Bars

Wondering how Chick-fil-A® Chocolate Chunk Cookies can taste even better than they already do? Just add icing fangs and mini-marshmallow teeth. You’ll have a smile on your face after just one bite into this sweet treat.

Ingredients:

• 2 Cookies & Cream Milkshakes (No whipped cream or cherry)
• Green food coloring
• Edible googly eyes
• 1 box brownie mix (18.2oz box)
• 1 egg
• 1/3 cup water
• 1/2 cup oil

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 8×8 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Prepare brownies according to box instructions, using the 8×8 pan size for cook time (~34-37 minutes).
  3. Once done, remove brownies from oven, allow to cool completely. Place the entire pan in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  4. Add 2-3 drops of green food coloring to each of your milkshakes, stir to fully combine in the provided cup. Add more or less food coloring to reach your desired green color. This will be the color of Frankenstein’s face!
  5. After 30 minutes in the freezer, pour both milkshakes into the pan. Use a spoon to spread into an even layer. Place the tray back into the freezer for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  6. When you are ready to serve, cut the brownies into three rows of three, or four rows of four, depending on how many you are hoping to serve. Carefully lift each “head” out of the pan, press two edible googly eyes into the green milkshake layer. Flip upside down, so that the brownie part is facing up (the hair). Repeat for remaining brownies, serve immediately! Freeze any leftovers.
